Before joining Newsdirect in August 2023, Susie studied Law and Politics at Dublin City University before transferring to the University of Stirling to finish her degree. Her portfolio is in rural affairs and the environment and currently leads on the Environment and Energy Today bulletin.

Prior to working at Newsdirect, Susie worked in the migration sector including working with survivors of torture in the national rehabilitation centre in Ireland and with the Irish civil service in grant assessment for higher education. She is also currently involved in an organisation for community events for isolated communities. Susie’s wider policy interests include tackling the climate crisis by increasing biodiversity and the security of native species in our environment and, addressing health and social inequalities.

Outside of work, she loves trying to read some of the books on her ‘to be read list’ and catching up on pop culture references.
