Jack was appointed as Assistant Director at Newsdirect in August 2023, and has responsibilities across business strategy, team development, HR and wellbeing. Jack has been Newsdirect’s energy and net zero portfolio lead since 2021, having previously worked across the reporter team. His monitoring work covers both Scotland and UK developments for a range of high-profile client organisations in the energy, renewables and third sector spaces.
Jack has a degree in Politics from the University of Glasgow, having previously worked as a researcher at IPPR Scotland and the University of Strathclyde’s Institute for Future Cities. Jack’s wider policy interests include tackling fuel poverty, environmental protection and improving mental health.
Outside of politics, he enjoys watching old films, collecting records and acquiring kitsch bric-à-brac. No one on the team knows Jack’s real age and are now too afraid to ask…
We disrupted the devolved political monitoring market in 2000 and joined DeHavilland in 2025. Though we're bigger and bolder now, we've maintained a person-centred process throughout.
