Jack was appointed as deputy head of monitoring at Newsdirect Scotland in July 2022 and acts as the lead on our energy, net zero and utilities portfolio. Originally hired as Westminster reporter in 2020, he now works across Scotland and UK developments for a range of high-profile client organisations in the renewables, regulatory, government and third sector spaces. In addition to these responsibilities, Jack oversees staff wellbeing and development across the team.

Jack has a degree in Politics from the University of Glasgow, previously worked as a researcher at IPPR Scotland, and was a postgraduate researcher in social policy at the University of Strathclyde’s Institute for Future Cities. Jack’s wider policy interests include tackling fuel poverty, issues in cultural heritage, mental health and the impact of technology on people’s lives.

Outside of politics, he enjoys going to galleries, watching old films, collecting records and acquiring kitsch bric-à-brac. No one on the team knows Jack’s real age and are now too afraid to ask…

Why we are different

We disrupted the political monitoring market in 2000 and, though we're bigger and bolder now, we've maintained a person-centred process throughout.
