Kate Mitchell is Newsdirect Wales’ Senior Account Manager and is responsible for policy areas relating to energy, decarbonisation, green skills, digital infrastructure, biodiversity and the wider economy. Since joining the team, Kate has led coverage on the scrutiny of the Infrastructure Bill, the passing of the Air Quality Bill and kept clients informed on developments relating to Ynni Cymru and Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru. Regularly undertaking a range of independent research tasks, Kate has built briefings on the management of The Crown Estate, political party’s views on renewables, constituency demographics and local development plans.

Before joining Newsdirect, Kate studied English Literature at Oxford Brookes University and worked for three years at a public policy events company, where she developed a particular interest in policies aimed at tackling climate change. Since moving to Wales during the pandemic, Kate spends her time failing at home DIYs, resisting the urge to adopt a dog and gathering a list of book recommendations that she has yet to read.

Why we are different

We disrupted the political monitoring market in 2000 and, though we're bigger and bolder now, we've maintained a person-centred process throughout.
