Ian Woodbyrne

Senior Account Manager - Scotland

Ian Woodbyrne is a senior account manager covering a portfolio of public health clients, spanning health boards, charities, and industry specialists.  He leads on Newsdirect’s parliamentary impact reporting and heads the team preparing for next year’s local authority elections.

Ian gained a degree in Politics from the University of Glasgow in 2019, which involved a semester Erasmus exchange at Stockholm University. Following graduation, Ian worked as a paid policy & public affairs intern with the British Heart Foundation Scotland team. He then worked briefly with the David Hume Institute as a contracted researcher following the end of his BHF internship, and joined Newsdirect as a health and social care account manager in October 2020.

Ian’s recently realised that his favourite category of music is scandi-pop, and also just Harry Styles. He enjoys all things football; playing; watching; and listening [to podcasts about it]. He’ll also try to squeeze in a reference to his famous connection within the first five minutes of meeting you.
