Rafe Uddin

Editor, Parliament Today - Scotland

Rafe Uddin is editor of Newsdirect’s Parliament Today service. His work largely centres on delivering our daily bulletin service and keeping abreast of new developments and emerging trends in Scottish politics. In his first year with Newsdirect, Rafe was able to extensively cover the Hate Crime Bill, COVID regulations and supported the team’s wider election coverage.

Prior to joining Newsdirect he worked as a researcher for Adam Tomkins in Holyrood on placement with the John Smith Centre. Rafe read History & Politics at the University of Glasgow and graduated in 2020. During his studies, he was an editor of the university’s magazine and newspaper.

Having worked alongside Kezia Dugdale and the John Smith Centre on race equality issues, he remains passionate about the ways good policy can improve outcomes for ethnic minorities and working-class people.
