Alasdair has been Head of Monitoring at Newsdirect since 2019. In this role he is in charge of work planning, staff training and the delivery of client services. Joining Newsdirect Scotland in 2013, he worked initially as a part-time parliamentary reporter before becoming an account manager the following year. His time has included two referendums, two Scottish Parliament elections and three UK general elections.
Before joining Newsdirect, he interned in the parliamentary office of Jackie Baillie and at Reform Scotland. He has an undergraduate degree in History & Politics and a masters degree in Scottish History, both from the University of Edinburgh. He also spent some time tutoring undergraduate students and has judged the Saltire Literary Awards.
When he’s not working, he likes to get out and about around Linlithgow with his wife, three children and dog. He knows fine well that lots of music has been made since the time of the Beatles, it’s just that none of it has been as good.
We disrupted the political monitoring market in 2000 and, though we're bigger and bolder now, we've maintained a person-centred process throughout.
